You can pay everything by card almost everywhere. Given it’s a visa or mastercard. I almost never use cash ever. Maybe some taxis sometimes don’t have card terminals. And maybe some cafés if you do a small order. But other than that cards works everywhere. But yes sure take some cash at the airport just to be on the safe side !

The 'catch' is that many taxis are radio-dispatched and what often appears to be an empty taxi is on its way to a pre-dispatched pick-up. We contemplated getting and Uber vs a taxi, but as we had 3 pieces of luggage (2 large) we opted to get a taxi so queued in the official taxi line at Gare du nord. 1. Re: booking a taxi from Gare Du Nord. I don't see any advantage in prebooking a taxi from Gare du Nord. Just go directly to the official taxi line, which is on the right side of the station when exiting the platform. Do not exit through the front and ignore any offers ot "taxis" which would be scammers before getting to that line.
